People complain. They’re complaining all the time about everything. As a child, I was innocent enough to believe what people were saying. I really thought there were plenty of valid reasons to complain: the weather (most often), lack of money (runner-up), the neighbors, husband or wife, the children (me, in this case), civilization (or the lack of it), bad health, etc. I assumed the world just turned out to be like this and there was nothing much we could do. It was called something. The thing to do was to pray. Not to ask for a better life. No! I learned to pray to ask God to forgive me for my sins. I was a nice little girl, doing very well at school, polite with the neighbors, helpful at home, so it was rather difficult to keep finding sins for our weekly confession. But because human beings are profoundly sinful by birth, they told me, I had to go confess anyway. The nuns at school came up with a solution to help us out: they prepared?our sins for us. Every Wednesday, on confession day, they gave us a pink paper with our ionfessions of the day.

I remember feeling sorry for the poor priest, hidden in his little black cabin, spending the entire day listening to the confessions of 600 little girls, endlessly repeating the same sins over and over? Growing up, I figured something was missing. Pretending to be sinful by repeating sins someone else had cooked up for me, that could not be what life is about. I refused to further confess sins that I had not committed. I refused to believe that I was the cause of my misery, and that I had to pray every day without things getting better! When I was 26, I went to Africa. There I met my husband (he’s from Belgium) and together we had a wonderful time, with plenty of sunshine and plenty of money; circumstances people usually don’t complain about, right? According to my childhood logic, people only complain for a reason: lousy weather (too cold, too much rain), lack of money, etc. But what I discovered over there seriously opened my eyes! My phite?friends just went on complaining: about the weather (too hot), about the service (5 servants and still they were complaining) or about how things were too expensive ?while they were earning 5 times as much as before! I discovered there and then that the complaining was not based on any objective reasons.

As a matter of fact, contact lenses and Costume Hire are the most important roles of website hosting.

Stress is not created by problems, but the reaction. It’s safe to say that the majority of us face the same day to day challenges – with our health, family, money, career or just the daily stresses of life.

But its really up to a person whether to decide a situation is a “stressful” one or merely a challenge. If you approach obstacles with a positive attitude, you will get a positive outcome – the reverse is also true.

Here are 5 things to keep in mind when dealing with a challenge.

The 5 Rules Of Happiness:

If you like something, do it, enjoy it and savor it. This goes for hobbies, tasks, food – anything. If you think and believe something is good for you – it is.

If you don’t like something, don’t do it and avoid it. If you hate grocery shopping – pay extra to shop online – think of what you could do with the extra time! If there is a task at work that you don’t particularly like doing – mention it to your boss and suggest that your talents are best used focused on a different task. You will soon see that not everything is set in stone.

If you don’t like something and can’t avoid it, change it. Unfortunately, you can’t avoid some things, like going to the dentist, having an unhappy spouse. So its up to you to CHANGE it. But remember, you can never change a person, only yourself.

If you can’t or choose not to avoid or change something you don’t like, then accept it. Acceptance is the only path to true inner peace. If you have problems accepting certain things in your life and finding inner peace, try meditating (try out guided meditation or the silva method if you are a beginner).

Changing your perception of a situation can help you to accept it. How you perceive reality IS your reality. Simple as that. If you perceive being stuck in a traffic jam as a waste of your time, it will be. If you perceive it as the time of day to balance your checkbook and schedule your next day, then you will perceive traffic jams much more differently.

Sounds pretty simple right? Its all too easy to forget these 5 simple rules to happiness.

Alot of the time, its easy to forget that we do everything by choice- we choose who to surround ourselves with, where to work, what to eat and most importantly HOW to feel.

So next time you find yourself in an unhappy or stressful situation, run through these 5 rules in your head and see if you’re breaking any of them. Trust me, they’d really help you see what you can do to remedy the situation and be happy.

Positive thoughts help you see the solutions in situations and enhance your creativity. Your ability to rationalize will increase.

Even with all the benefits, its too easy to slip into a bad mood or negative thought patterns. So here are 7 little tips on how to instantly be happier, healthier and wise:

1. Think Positive – This is easier said than done- especially when nothing seems to go your way. But there are many exercises you can do (like hypnosis, biofeedback or the silva method) to understand your own negative thought patterns so you can change them to positive, resourceful beliefs.

2. Give Someone A Compliment - Smiles are contagious. When you see someone smile, you will instantly smile. They are also more likely to reciprocate, but as they say, its better to give than to receive.

3. Take Care Of Your Look – How you present yourself says alot about how you feel about yourself. All it takes is a tiny gesture, like wearing your favorite shoes or getting a haircut, and you will instantly boost your happiness. The little things are very powerful.

4. Talk To A Stranger – Many of us these days are so focused on where we are going and what we need to get done, that we hardly stop and take time to smell the roses. Human beings need social interaction. You never know, you could make a new best friend or maybe even more.

5. Visualize Your Success – When you take the time to imagine and really see and feel what your success will be, it instantly gives you a great feeling. Not only this, but visualization is a powerful manifestation technique. Visualization not only brings you closer to your goals, but makes you happier on the way.

6. Sing- We all don’t have the voice of an angel, but everyone likes to sing, regardless of whether they admit it or not. If your more of a shy type, start conducting concerts in your shower.

7. Decide to be Happy – Just choose happiness, right now, as you read this. Its that simple.

One thing that all people have is their emotions. For some people these emotions are more easily displayed. Some emotions are good for a person especially when displayed like happiness. Some people show emotions of excitement and happiness. Other people tend to show more sadness or more anger than happiness. All people have emotions and they usually express it but sometimes they get out of hand. Anger is one of those emotions.

Anger management

As you have read in this article anger can be dangerous and detrimental to family life. In my practice doing anger management in San Diego I have seen the effects it can have on a family. It could make living with the person very uncomfortable. It could make everybody afraid to say the wrong thing. It can turn a place of safety into a place where there is always negativity and anger. The place of safety I’m referring to is our homes.

Depression

It may be surprising but anger sometimes stems from an emotional issue like depression. Whatever reason it may be but the case is that this person is depressed. Often times it leads to anger when some problems seem unsolvable or there is no way out. That is why I advice everyone feeling depression to seek a depression counselor. It is best to stop something before it escalates into something worse. Because sometimes it just does not lead into anger but into something where they eventually hurt themselves.

Either way these two emotions whether they stem from each other have to be dealt with. If you let either keep going it can get worse. It will destroy your relationship with your family. It can destroy relationships. Being a family therapist in San Diego I stress the importance of good relationships in family life. So I stress to you that any kind of emotional issues be dealt with immediately. Sometimes it is hard to go to someone for help. But this would prove to be very helpful in the long run especially for the person affected.
